Dave Katz, CPA

David Katz is a Managing Director and Partner at Silver Fern Financial.

With more than 25 years of experience in the hedge fund industry, Dave has dedicated his career to building, launching, and scaling investment firms with institutional-grade financial, operational, and compliance infrastructure. His expertise spans fund launches, financial strategy, accounting and reporting, regulatory compliance, risk management, and operational leadership across both emerging and established managers.

Prior to joining Silver Fern Financial, Dave served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for multiple hedge funds, including Three Bridges Capital, Interval Partners, Shou Capital, and Act II Management, where he led end-to-end fund operations from pre-launch through maturity. His experience includes onboarding investors, drafting organizational and offering documents, managing service providers, overseeing global trading operations, preparing SEC and offshore regulatory filings, and acting as primary contact during regulatory examinations.

Earlier in his career, Dave held senior fund accounting and compliance roles at McKinsey & Company (MIO Partners) and worked in public accounting, building a strong technical foundation in audit, valuation, and financial controls. He has supported a wide range of strategies, including long/short equity, private equity, and fund-of-funds structures, and brings deep familiarity with both U.S. and Cayman regulatory environments.

Based in the New York City metropolitan area, Dave is known for his operational rigor, collaborative leadership style, and ability to translate complex financial and regulatory requirements into practical, scalable solutions. At Silver Fern Financial, he partners closely with founders and investment teams to deliver clarity, confidence, and best-in-class infrastructure—allowing managers to focus on performance while meeting the highest institutional and investor standards.
